Position Summary:

The purpose of this role is to support the project lead by leading and contributing to the production of design and building documentation.

Strong proficiency in Revit is essential for this role.

AJ+C has projects that cover a variety of sectors so diverse experience across project types is desirable.

 

Experience, skills + qualifications:

  • Diploma, Bachelor degree or Masters (minimum 7 years’ experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Revit
  • Strong documentation and detailing experience
  • Dynamo, Grasshopper, Rhino, Adobe Creative Cloud Skills desirable
  • Sound understanding of BCA, Australian Standards, development controls and construction
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

 

Key duties & responsibilities: 

  • Assist with producing high quality design and building documentation from conceptual plans to complete documentation packages
  • Coordinate and deliver work within the project requirements, deadlines, scope, and fee
  • Develop and draw to integrate / coordinate designs of other consultants
  • Lead and coach team members
  • Coordinate the revit model

In this role you will:

Assist in all design and delivery tasks for major Urban Design Projects, including:

  • Built form, street layout and public realm design;
  • Feasibility studies from back-of-the-envelope through to implementation;
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis;
  • Preparation of reports, drawings and presentations.

 

The right candidate will have:

  • Qualification in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture or Architecture required
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience post-graduation, including in specific urban design roles
  • Green Star (or equivalent) certifications desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong written, graphic and verbal communication skills
  • Well developed urban design communication skills
  • Superior ability to use reason, logic and creativity to solve ambiguous problems
  • Comfortable, effective and influential in meetings with senior management teams
  • Prepares well structured, clearly expressed written documents that address issues concisely and professionally

This role is in charge of managing the day-to-day project work including concept design, the program of work, financial management and technical expertise to deliver high-quality project work to clients.

  • Manage the programming of work and resources
  • Coordinate team members and external consultant team to deliver the work
  • Manage delivery and risk across the project’s scope of work, contract requirements and financial outcomes
  • Ensure project work are complying with AJ+C standards and quality systems
  • Conduct project audits and technical reviews on other projects and contribute to working groups across the practice

 

The right candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience preferably within large and complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience in residential, mixed-use, or sporting and community projects
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with project delivery (inception to site) on large and complex projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good Revit
  • Experience in leading teams
