Dip Café

Integrating public and private spaces in the heart of upmarket Mosman, Dip Café’s indoor-outdoor flow provides an inviting, relaxed space.

A community hub Situated beneath AJ+C’s Nuova Mosman apartments and adjoining the Mosman Swim Centre, Dip Café provides a light, colourful space for swimmers, locals and visitors. Carefully designed to integrate the interior of the café with the public space of the street, it adds a village-style buzz to Mosman town centre.

Enticing visitors To address the constraint of Council’s prohibition on street signage, design elements were employed to invite customers inside. Warm-coloured outdoor furniture and a striking red fabric wall panel tempt visitors into this friendly space. These flashes of colour are set off by the otherwise neutral palette, and offer an atmosphere of calm spaciousness. Floor-to-ceiling glass concertina doors can be pushed aside to open the café seamlessly to the outdoors. This creates a natural, relaxed vibe, and attracts passersby.
