The AJ+C design concept for Dong Zheng International Hotel unites contemporary style with elements of Chinese culture.
An enviable location AJ+C’s design for the boutique Dong Zheng International Hotel saw it sitting on a highly visible corner site in Xi Cheng, Beijing. Located west of the Forbidden City, this five-star Beijing hotel design offered views of the famous landmark from its upper floors. All guestrooms were designed as lofts, with 190 standard rooms and 20 suites.
Unique requirements Such a site demanded a design respectful of its cultural and artistic significance. The design also maintained the sophisticated feel and appointments expected by international luxury hotel guests.
Contemporary, cultural AJ+C’s hotel design provided this contemporary feel, while drawing heavily on iconic elements of Chinese art and culture. Curved and clad in a modern Chinese glass screen, the building design integrated seamlessly into its environment. Interiors were provided by Chhada Siembieda Australia.
