urban design

Duncan is an architect and an urban designer who heads the AJ+C Urban Design Team. He is a graduate of Harvard University as well as the University of Sydney who brings a wealth of local and international experience to every project.

Duncan has managed the design and approval of a number of neighbourhood-scale projects on urban brownfield sites. His work often includes pilot strategies to produce the critical mass necessary to deliver long term master plan and visioning principles. Duncan provides design continuity on key strategic projects, with a dual-disciplinary skillset that allows him to carry an urban design through to its first architectural proposals.

Recent work includes two separate research and development precincts at the periphery of Kendall Square “the most innovative square mile on the planet”, the Athletes Village for the US 2024 Olympics Bid, a mid-scale business incubator and residential hub, and a 35Ha residential neighbourhood designed around a healthful living strategy. His architectural experience spans concept through construction in museum, community, commercial, retail and multi-residential work.
