After being approached by Moran Health Care Group to give the Sylvania Aged Care Facility an upmarket facelift, AJ+C responded with re-designing the entry Courtyards, Entry Foyer, Indoor swimming pool and Gallery with an elegant uplift.
The use of sandstone, timber seating and screening and introduction of hedge planting to the entry courtyard and adjacent day room courtyard brought an organised yet tasteful feel as you enter the site. The entry foyers use of neutral stone tiles and paint colours created a perfect backdrop to the contrasting caesar stone reception desk and beautiful Persian rug. Slotted plywood ceiling, with simple integrated lighting, hovers over the reception counter and swimming pool, whilst the plywood wraps the wall and ceiling along the length of the gallery creating backdrop to a sequence of wall openings providing a view into the preserved sandstone wall behind and space for hanging artworks.
