Allen Jack+Cottier’s pioneering approach to design and the environment continues to win industry awards, cementing a reputation as the leader of Ecological Sustainable Design (ESD) in Australia.

The practice received design awards for two residential-based projects at this year’s Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) NSW Awards for Excellence. Allen Jack+Cottier Director, Michael Heenan, believes that industry is accepting ESD as fundamental to development, enhancing commercial objectives by increasing profitability within the property market.

‘The Waterfront’, ‘Masterplanned Development – Mixed Use Development’. ‘Motto’ (pictured), a redevelopment a high density housing development at Homebush Bay, won the category of project comprising of 157 apartments and townhouses in Erskineville, claimed the category of ‘Urban Renewal’. Both projects represent the new school of ‘lifestyle’ – design that reconciles environmental and social responsibilities with personal space.
