Press Release: Hillcrest Village wins National Excellence in Building and Constructions Award

Hillcrest Village Stage One has won the National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award in the category of Purpose Built Dwelling – over 10 units, awarded by Master Builders Australia in conjunction with the Department of Health and Ageing.

Each year Master Builders Australia acknowledges excellence in the building and construction industry through its prestigious National Awards.

The National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award is a joint initiative of the Australian Government and Master Builders Australia. The Award recognises the building industry’s significant role in developing innovative housing options for older Australians.

Located at Stanwell Park near Wollongong, NSW, Hillcrest Village is a unique retirement village containing 24 high quality independent living units within a forested enclave at the foot of the Illawara escarpment. Builders Zadro Constructions worked closely with architects Allen Jack+Cottier, and client United Protestant Association of NSW, to achieve the finished product.

Allen Jack+Cottier’s Peter Ireland and Richard Allen and Zadro Constructions’ Anthony Posavac accepted the award from Australia’s Ambassador for Ageing Noeline Brown at a black tie dinner at Parliament House, Canberra on Friday 19th November.

“This award is an endorsement of the high quality design outcome achieved through the close working relationship and cooperation between the project’s builder, client, consultants and architect” says Richard Allen, project architect for the scheme.
