Press Release: Principal and award winning architect Michael Heenan will be a judge for the 2011 World Architecture Festival Awards

Michael Heenan, the architect behind Australias triumphant win over some of the largest sports buildings in the world has been announced as a judge for the World Architecture Festival Awards to be held in Barcelona, 2-4 November 2011.

Allen Jack+Cottier (AJ+C)’s principal and award winning architect Michael Heenan has been selected to join the international jury which sees leading architects and industry figures from around the globe coming together to see which projects are worthy of a WAF Award.

This year’s celebrated super jury will unite to judge which project will be crowned World Building of the Year live at the WAF.

Michael was recently the recipient of an unprecedented two consecutive Blacket Prizes for Excellence in Architecture from the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). He was also winner of Best Sports Building at the World Architecture Festival in 2009, and was subsequently invited to join the judging panel at the 2010 World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. Michael was also Chair of the New South Wales AIA Architecture Awards jury 2010.
