Press Release: The state-of-the-art high care residence for the eldery opens at Quakers Hill, NSW

A brand new, contemporary Aged Care facility for 127 residents at Quakers Hill NSW, designed by Allen Jack+Cottier, was jointly opened on Friday 28 February 2014, by NSW Premier The Hon Barry O’Farrell, and the Federal Minister for Social Services, the Hon Kevin Andrews.

The original home was destroyed in a fire in November, 2011. Owned by Domain Principal Group (DPG), the new Quakers Hill Nursing Home provides three times the amount of communal and leisure space as the former home, and includes a range of design features that will assist the residents with wayfinding and orientation. It includes a diversity of communal areas both inside and outside, and planning that assists the staff to provide the best of care.

Opening the new facility, Minister Andrews praised the design of the new building, calling it ‘a lesson in what a state-of-the-art aged care facility really means’.
