Queensland Centre of Photography opens with song and dance
The Queensland Centre of Photography (QCP) has launched its new home in an office building designed by Allen Jack+Cottier, Brisbane office (in association with Cox Rayner). The A1 office building is located within SW1, described by site developers Austcorp and Property Solutions as an ‘urban village’ in Brisbane’s city-fringe suburb of South Bank. The Brisbane team also designed the QCP’s new home in a pro bono capacity. The new 220m² complex comprises four exhibitions spaces as well as video projection facilities. The centre was opened by the Queensland Minister for Education, Training and Arts, Rod Welford, before an audience that included AJ+C architects, Colin Janes and Nicky Middleton. Members of the local Jagera community performed a song welcoming the new gallery to the land.
The QCP is a not-for-profit organisation that facilitates connections between audience and art practitioners.
