South Coast Studio

South Coast Studio captures spectacular views The Studio is located on the south side of the farm, perched over the rolling hills of the south coast and capturing spectacular coast and valley views.

The building was originally designed as a playwright’s retreat. It evolved from a simple single extruded form, with a dramatic 5m high Victorian Ash timber lined cathedral-like internal space, into a two bedroom residence.

The form of the timber clad structure was designed in direct contrast to the modern design of the main house (which is to commence construction shortly). The Studio evokes the more traditional rural architectural forms scattered around the area. A separate metal clad bedroom wing with a sunken garage buried in the side of the hill at its base was added to provide further accommodation for the owners.
