Communications & Marketing Manager

AJ+C are currently seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Manager to join our team of talented designers and support staff. This role reports to the Practice Manager and Co-Principals and will lead the Communications Team to develop and implement the marketing and communication strategy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning

  • Manage the development and execution of AJ+C’s communication and marketing strategy with overall responsibility for growing and maintaining the brand
  • Act as a sounding board and advisor to the Leadership team and key personnel on communication opportunities.
  • Provide advice on all aspects of AJ+C’s internal and external communications.

  • Marketing

  • Coordinate marketing strategy communications, PR and award submissions
  • Lead and manage marketing for the company and activities within the Communications Team.
  • Advise on marketing and communications activities such as positioning, strategy and reaching target audiences.
  • Initiate the creation and publication of all marketing material.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget (e.g. award submissions, events, photography etc).
  • Lead on commissioning of film and photography
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns.

  • Media Relations

  • Manage PR schedule, maintain relationships with key publications and journalists
  • Prepare press releases and respond to media enquiries

  • Branding

  • Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
  • Coordinate re-branding project.
  • Monitor consistency of branding across communications activities (brochures/presentations/websites/social media/events/media)

  • Marketing database

  • Manage and establish a comprehensive media network and database including client lists, media contacts and the AJ+C Project database
  • Assist Leadership team and key personnel in developing relationships with existing Clients as well as gaining new business
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team for information on marketing opportunities (launches, openings etc)

  • Website, Intranet & Staff

  • Work with the Communications Team to develop the content of the website.
  • Develop and maintain AJ+C blog.
  • Manage intranet and assist Leadership Team with communication to employees (intranet/ internal and external special events/ team building).

  • Social Media

  • Develop and maintain online social media profile including strategy, brand representation, campaigns and content development
  • Investigate new opportunities for engagement via social media platforms
  • Work with the People and Culture Manager to build LinkedIn profiles of AJ+C senior staff

  • Marketing Analysis

  • Monitor and report on social media analytics in line with communications strategy

  • Research

  • Actively seek and monitor business development opportunities, client opportunities/movements, new/active/changing clients, sector and client feedback.

  • Events Management

  • Coordinate speaking engagements for key personnel
  • Maintain relationships with industry bodies (e.g. CTBUH, Property Council, GBCA, ULI, etc)
  • Assist with coordination of internal and external events (exhibitions/rehearsals/conferences/sponsorships/networking)

  • Submissions

  • Manage and assist the Submissions Coordinator and alignment with the Communications strategy
  • Assist with submissions content, including CVs, Project Sheets and Methodologies.

  • Graphics

  • Manage and assist the Graphics Team to manage/catalogue marketing material (photos/videos/plans/text/client and user reviews/endorsements).

  • Marketing Experience

  • Min 3 years relevant experience in marketing or communications role.
  • Proven experience within architecture, engineering and the built environment is preferable
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced social media knowledge and ability to deliver the social media and press strategies

  • Design Skills

  • Familiarity with principles of graphic design and photography.

  • Computing Skills

  • Proficient in Adobe Indesign; Microsoft Office and Google analytics
