Chamber of Commerce endorses new developer
Council’s appointment of an urban street developer to plan a major upgrade has received a ringing endorsement from the Chamber of Commerce.
Urban designers Allen Jack+Cottier have signed on to progress the next stage of the Broken Hill Heritage City Living Museum and Perfect Light Project. The project would transform the city’s CBD into an authentic and immersive heritage, retail and hospitality precinct, complete with a world-class sound and light show.
It would preserve and improve heritage assets and experiences in the city, focusing on Argent Street and the Line of Lode while covering an area from Crystal to Beryl streets and Bromide to Delamore streets. Council hopes the upgrade will send a clear message to residents, visitors and investors that Broken Hill is a destination different to all others; through its originality, fearlessness, creativity and cultural narrative.
