Tony Spragg 1957 – 2010
AJ+C are saddened to announce the passing of our colleague and friend, Tony Spragg.
Tony joined AJ+C in 1985 and over the past 25 years has contributed to a wide variety of projects ranging from aged care to student housing. Most importantly, he was an active member of the AJ+C family and many describe him as a reliable experienced architect with a bundle of knowledge which he was always willing to share.
Tony was always one of the first to thank, congratulate, participate and donate. He was a doer, not a talker. You knew that if you asked Tony for advice on anything, his words would be well considered, and it was advice worth following. Tony’s dry sense of humour and talent at the lunchtime cross-words contributed to the vast appreciation we had for him. His talent extended past architecture into photography in which Tony was an active member of Retina, our in-house photography group.
He put his hand-up for everything, and has left big shoes to fill. He was the company safety manager, chief fire-warden and gave hints for the lunch-time nine letter word.
It is incredibly sad and surreal not to have Tony with us anymore. Our thoughts and condolences go to Katie his wife and Sam his son during this difficult time.
