Project Architect Brian Mariotti introduces the AJ+C designed, Urbanest Darling Square 1. It is one of two new student housing buildings at Darling Square which when completed, will operate as one integrated facility, linked by a bridge at first floor, providing over 1300 beds and resident facilities such as dining hall, study areas, lounges, gym, movie room and a roof terrace. With Lend Lease, the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, Denton Corker Marshall and Hassell, AJ+C was part of the successful Darling Harbour Live bid for the precinct in late 2012. This will involve renewal of the exhibition, convention and entertainment centres at Darling Harbour and construction of a new residential, commercial and cultural precinct in Darling Square, where the Entertainment Centre and a car park previously stood.
