80 New Affordable Homes for the Rockdale Community

Designed by AJC and built by Versatile Construction, the 11-storey development brings 80 secure rental homes to the heart of Rockdale for people on low to moderate incomes.

With a mix of apartments for families, couples and individuals, Tallowwood is designed to support a diverse and welcoming community. Communal open space provides places for residents to gather, relax and spend time together, while passive design, solar panels and rainwater reuse support sustainable everyday living.

The apartments were officially opened by NSW Minister for Water, Housing, Homelessness, Mental Health, and Youth, the Hon. Rose Jackson MLC.

Minister Jackson said: “We know that homes like this are so desperately needed, I hear from people day in, day out who are struggling to keep up with rising rents in this crazy housing market. While there is much more to do, it is exciting to see what is being achieved by community housing providers.

“I’m also really pleased to see City West Housing expand into other suburbs so more people can benefit from high quality, affordable homes in really great locations near transport, jobs, shops, and services.”

Residents will start moving in shortly and include individuals and families working across areas including aged care, hospital staff, youth workers, hospitality and airport employees.
