AJC Architects announces the appointment of Rodney Drayton as Chief Operating Officer

AJC is pleased to share that Rodney Drayton has joined the practice as its new Chief Operating Officer.

A registered architect and accomplished executive, Rodney brings over 25 years of experience leading design-focused businesses through growth, transformation, and strategic delivery — both in Australia and internationally. His leadership across firms such as NBRS, CHROFI, and most recently as COO at Buchan, has shaped some of the most complex public and private projects across education, health, justice, and civic infrastructure.

Rodney is recognised for his considered, data-driven leadership style and his ability to foster high-performing, collaborative teams while delivering on strategic outcomes.

“What drew me to AJC is the strength of its culture and purpose. There’s a real commitment to both design and people here — it’s a place where excellence and empathy go hand in hand. I’m passionate about enabling people to create exceptional design that aligns with a engaging strategy, while finding joy in the process and pride in the outcome,” says Rodney.

“Rodney’s experience, insight and values are deeply aligned with ours,” says Dua Green, CEO and Director. “His leadership will help guide the practice into an important next chapter — one that supports innovation, nurtures talent, and delivers on AJC’s strategic vision.”

AJC welcomes Rodney to the team and looks forward to the impact of his leadership as the practice continues to grow and evolve.
