Design + Quality Manager – Sydney

We are looking for a Design + Quality Manager to join our team in Sydney, with a focus on delivering project support and across the practice. This is a key leadership role within our practice, aimed at building the capabilities of an agile and collaborative workplace using our Quality Management System. It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a great team and play a key strategic role within our business.

About the Role

  • Improve operations and procedures that directly contribute to the quality of AJ+C’s design and professional services
  • Contribute to the development and guidance of employees at all levels in the practice
  • Seek business improvement opportunities across the practice
  • Coordinate Technical Reviews and a Design Workshopping process across the practice
  • Maintain operation and seek business improvement opportunities across various resources and systems such as our Standard details library, NATspec, NCC and Australian Standards
  • Support the Practice Manager as required with number of working groups, reviewing consultancy contracts and assisting with the preparation of fees and scopes by Directors
  • Maintain AJ+C’s ISO9001 certified Quality Management System
  • Oversee AJ+C’s Work, Health and Safety System and Program
  • Generally maintaining, coordinating, instructing, and managing upwards

  • Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters qualifications in Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience post-graduation
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and enact change programs across a business
  • Superior ability to solve ambiguous problems
  • Strong communication skills including careful listening, written and face to face communication
  • Passion to lead, coach and guide others
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to perform well in a collaborative, team environment
