Allen Jack+Cottier continues a relationship forged in 1993, providing masterplanning for a large Sydney theological learning centre, and planning for its future growth.
The concept plan In 2008, Allen Jack+Cottier provided masterplanning for the Resource and Research Centre at Moore College. Integrating existing street networks, the plan allows for 27,500 square metres of residential, educational and retail space.
Challenging convention The design for Moore College challenges traditional ideas about campus structure. It positions teaching and learning in a residential faith community that values relationships. Additionally, it engages with a vibrant inner-city precinct via facilities extending towards Newtown and Camperdown. The design for the new Resource and Research Centre responds to these key distinctions.
Meeting changing needs Requirements for libraries and educational organisations continue to change. Consolidation of infrastructure, facilities and administration is now expected, with multiple stakeholders together beneath one roof. By promoting connectivity and collaboration in the Resource and Research Centre, AJ+C’S design addresses these requirements.
