John Gunnell

Good design is more than a just practical response to the brief; it must bring magic to the spaces we inhabit.

John has extensive local and international experience across a range of sectors from residential and commercial, public and education, to specialty sports and leisure design. Notable award-winning projects he has contributed to include Milson Island Indoor Stadium, Abbotsleigh Multipurpose Hall and Sports Field and the John Phillips Library and Kingswood Campus in Western Sydney.

In London, John worked on major commercial and retail projects including British Airways Waterside HQ in Harmondsworth, and Lakeside Regional Shopping Centre in West Thurrock Essex.

As a Studio Director John is currently working on the master planning, design and construction for multiple commercial and multi-residential and community facilities for a town centre near the new Western Sydney Aerotropolis. John is responsible for the seamless delivery of these projects, working in close collaboration with clients and consultant teams to achieve net zero outcomes as we approach 2030.
