Sarah Slattery
Studio Lead
Sports and community facilities are wonderful to work on because they promote wellbeing, they bring different people together and they help build future communities.
Sarah brings diverse architectural experience gained in Australia and the US — from cultural and public projects to bespoke private residences. As a Studio Lead at AJC, Sarah is pivotal to our Sports & Community domain.
Currently leading the design for Lane Cove Sport & Recreation Centre – a project that recently broke ground on site, Sarah also led AJC’s successful EOI bid for Maitland Community Centres in the NSW Hunter Valley. She is a Studio Lead on our transformative projects with PCYC, and spearheads our Pro Bono collaborations, currently with AWF and My Home Disability Services.
With many of her project sites straddling nature, Sarah has a keen instinct for place-sensitive design that bridges or borrows landscape. She is a mentor who relishes the role for the collaborative exchange of ideas and viewpoints. Outside AJC, Sarah is a mentor at the University of Sydney Women’s College, a tutor at the University of NSW, and a member of the Gender Equity Taskforce with the Australian Institute of Architects (NSW).
