PCYC Grafton

This project is one of 14 current projects AJC is undertaking for PCYC NSW. PCYC have a vision to be Australia’s pre-eminent youth organisation working with Police and community to empower young people to reach their potential. They are embarking on an ambitious building program across the state to manifest this vision, and AJC is extremely proud to be part of such an important initiative.

This project saw significant alterations and additions to an existing run-down club building. New works consisted of welcoming and secure entry, café, boxing room, youth drop-in space, teaching space, administration space, parking and amenities. The area of the new works is approximately 1300 m². A key issue with this project is the way PCYC are striving to present themselves and their brand in positive and welcoming manner in order to achieve their mission of getting young people active in life.
Our design is bright, transparent, legible and welcoming. The front façade is beautifully proportioned, elegantly detailed and well-lit at night. It is our hope that our architecture can positively contribute to PCYC’s vision, and result in a facility where the community feels safe and at home.
