Parkside Lifestyle Community

A transformational project for Blacktown, Parkside Lifestyle Community brings people-focused retirement living to Western Sydney.

Blacktown Workers Club has a strong relationship with its community and members, more 85 percent of whom are over 65 years of age. Now renamed as the Workers Lifestyle Group, it is developing a new retirement village in Blacktown, framed around people-friendly active shared space, and buildings combining high levels of amenity with framed landscape vistas.

Located on 5.4 hectares of former playing fields, the project is being staged over many years, with Stages 1 and 2 due for completion in 2025. Stages 1 and 2 combine over-55s 166 apartments across four buildings, with a new community centre, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and landscaped Village Green.

Responding to the surrounding low-rise residential and industrial neighbourhoods, the new village will be articulated as a series of generously separated buildings to reduce visual bulk while increasing solar and view access, with a variety of setbacks along existing street frontages and new internal streets.

The emphasis is on quality construction, sustainable materials and design. Residences range from 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom apartments with adaptable amenities, private balconies and wintergardens, and access to communal recreation areas including barbecue and undercover dining areas, parklets and roof terraces.

The central road access is designed as a ‘shared zone’ to be pedestrian friendly, with cars contained in basement parking areas, and public domain improvements on Reservoir Road and Penny Place softening these street frontages.
