Loreto Normanhurst Carpark & tennis courts

Two new tennis courts are located above the carpark which is nestled into the topography of the site so that the tennis courts extend directly from the landscaped gardens.

A key part of unlocking the masterplan, in terms of both School functionality and planning pathways, was to unlock the traffic through the site including pickup and drop off (PUDO).

A new, one way, through site link was introduced connecting the reception and existing carparks and providing opportunity for additional parking and PUDO areas. The site of the new carpark previously accommodated old tennis courts and maintenance sheds. Given it’s location adjacent to the School’s heritage gardens and buildings this provided an opportunity to improve the aesthetics of this area alongside the functionality.

Two new tennis courts are located above the carpark which is nestled into the topography of the site so that the tennis courts extend directly from the landscaped gardens. New shelters along the through site link provide cover for the PUDO zones and work seamlessly with the landscape. The outcome has improved the PUDO, provided additional carparking, provided new, fit for purpose, tennis courts whilst creating a cohesive and aesthetic design outcome significantly improving the amenity of this previously underutilised area.
